  1. PGP 2.3A for OS/2 availability

  3. The OS/2 version of PGP 2.3A is available from
  4.

  7.  /pub/comp/os/os2/crypt/pgp23srcA.zip (source code)

  9. The executables archive contains 16-bit (OS/2 1.x) and 32-bit (OS/2
  10. 2.x) executables. The 16-bit one runs under OS/2 2.x and even under
  11. plain DOS as well, while the 32-bit one runs under OS/2 2.x only.

  13. PGP is a free public key encryption program for personal use, the
  14. three letters stand for "pretty good privacy". See discussions in
  15. sci.crypt or alt.security.pgp for details or read the docs included
  16. with the program. In the alt.security.pgp news group, a FAQ is posted
  17. periodically which contains a lot of useful information about PGP.

  19. I should also have mentioned, that people should not upload the
  20. program and/or the source code to any archive in the US that is
  21. accessible from outside the US. While PGP was written outside the US
  22. and can be imported into the US by individuals using it, it may not be
  23. re-exported from the US (silly regulations). If you put it onto an FTP
  24. site or BBS where non-US users may download it, you can cause the
  25. archive owner/maintainer a lot of trouble.

  27. PGP is available from several european (I don't know about other, such
  28. as australian) ftp sites. Other european sites that carry OS/2
  29. software (there are quite a few in Germany alone) are encouraged to
  30. mirror PGP for OS/2 from the above site.

  32. BTW, there is a quirk with the current 32-bit version, it requires the
  33. PGPPATH environment variable to be terminated with a trailing slash or
  34. backslash to work correctly, otherwise it will not find the config.txt
  35. file and complain.
